Good Evening peeps from what has been a fabulous sunny hot day in Burntwood, Staffordshire. Im finally in a better mood as Im getting better!! Well, that is until I see a specialist asap.
Im not going to spill what's wrong with me yet, as Im not too sure myself. I don't think its life threatening anyway.
Im posting late with this as Ive been quite ill for almost 10 days (& nights) now & I had a commission order to finish off for a young lady's 21st Birthday on Tuesday. Im hoping that the boxed card arrives on time now as I had missed the last collection yesterday (Saturday).
This is a midway reminder post for Quirky Crafts Blog Challenge #13 Midway Reminder for Quirky Crafts Challenge #13 . The theme being a very well known song from the Walt Disney film "The Aristocats" called "Everyone Wants To Be A Cat".
Quirky Crafts are very proud to be sponsored by Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More . Robyn is happy to award the winner their choice of 5 digital stamps and the 3rd place winner their choice of 3 digital stamps. 2nd place is also very kindly, sponsored by Digital Delights By Louby Lou, who are providing a $5 voucher to the second place winner.
The image I have used for this reminder is called "I Have A Crush On You" by Robyn's Fetish, coloured the cats with Promarkers, an antique white colouring pencil for the white cat (with a Warm Grey 1 from Promarkers for shading). I used a decorative tent fold ready made card for the base, (Ive had these in for months & this is the first time Ive used them). I downloaded the music from Google, leaving on the details of the gentlemen that wrote the words &music to the song "Everyone Wants To Be A Cat" from the Disney film The Aristocats. I added a small blue metallic bow tie for "Tom" and a pink metallic bow (in her hair) & collar for "Lady." I distressed the outer edges of the card, music & sentiment using a mixture of Scattered Straw & Bundled Sage from Tim Holtz range of Distress Inks. The coloured backing papers & sentiment are from my own stash.
I am entering this card into the I Love Promarkers Blog Challenge this week and the theme is TIME,
this card may not look like it has anything to do with TIME but to me, & countless others, you have to keep time when playing music!!!!

Good Morning from a wet Burntwood but also from a woman whos not that well, but being a mum, single parent & a dog owner, apart from being disabled, Ive been woken up at 6.20am by my beautiful Staffy/Bull Mastiff and tan coloured too, who when he comes downstairs to go out that he
always come into wake me up first!! (To top it all, after a quick fuss hes gone back to sleep on my teenage daughters bed!!! I love him to bits & Im so glad that I brought him (off a woman on Facebook actually) just over one year ago. Anyway, its now still early, Ive got the omnibus episodes of 2 of the soaps that I watch & missed, again, all this week & Im writing this ready to schedule so it goes live the same time as the main challenge blog. (That was until I fell asleep this afternoon until my carer walked in again!! Thats two days in a row but this time it was half an hour later lol). Its now just gone 8pm so I had better post this so you lovely people can read this......
Right-why Im actually writing this blog. The lovely people over at Robyns Fetish are our wonderful
sponsers for this challenge.
Our lovely leader (lol) Carol, on Quirky Crafts Blog Challenge has chosen the theme of "Everyone wants to be a cat" which is a song (as you more than likely be aware is) from the famous Walt Disney film "The Aristocats". So using one of Robyns Fetish's lovely image called "TooKewlCat" I made the following Joys Fold card. Why its called a Joys Fold Ive got no idea!
As soon as I saw TooKewlCat I decided that he was sitting on either a beach or at the park and I found an old backing paper in my files from a company called The Paper Shelter & its got fluffy white clouds a rainbow with a border of balloons. I coloured "Took" with my trusty Promarkers cut him out with a small white border (well pale grey as I had added a bit of shade to the left hand side as you look at him) adding 4 lines of Sakura Gelly Roll "Clear Star" glitter pen to his whiskers and around his very cool looking black edged sunglasses lol. I definately wanted to add a bit of fun element to this card as I wanted to make him for a young adult. So I had a small card (10cm square)
and added a small patterned blue paper to both insides & on the right hand side I added a smaller piece of white super smooth paper so a verse or sentiment could be written. On the larger piece of card I added a piece of distressed mottled red paper to completely cover the left hand side of the card & topped that with a piece of dark coloured silver paper. I wanted to add some texture so I used pieces of red & blue coloured twine, twisting them and stuck down so the ends went behind the silver bacing paper. On the right hand side of the larger card, which is the side that holds the card upright when the card is standing up I covered that with 2 blue patterned papers, one stars & one stripes. I thought, with being a "Kewl mans" image, that it should be finished off with a 21st and a small Happy Birthday sentiment. I dont know who Im going to give this card to so I might donate it to a charity for them to either sell or giveaway lol ;0 xx
I will, however, enter this into a couple of blog challenges but after a couple of days from when this challenge starts...
Enjoy your day peeps & I welcome any comments or questions that you may have.
Edited: Doh!!! What am I like??? I forgot to put the link up for you to find the Quirky Crafts Blog Challenge Number 13 so much easier!!!! Click HERE Sorry about that peeps.... ;( x

Good Afternoon on this beautiful sunny day here in Burntwood, Staffordshire.
It's been a very busy couple of weeks here with trying to tidy, Ive also had to clean out our 3 female gerbils large cage, which is actually a very large fish tank with a wire cage on top consisting of 2 "shelves" and ladders, the longest of which touches the bottom of the tank. They love it. Ive got a friend who runs his own printing business & very kindly lets me have the large thick cardboard tubes that sit in the middle of the vinyl that he uses. The gerbils, Linda-Lucy & LouLou, then use them as I was hoping for, as tunnels in between the sawdust. I add my unwanted paperwork to the cage, screwed up into a twist or ball so they can then chew it up. Very useful paper shredders & a lot nicer to look at lol.!!
Back to the card that's shown below, I coloured the digi image from Alicia's Little Shop, using my Flexmarkers & Promarkers, mainly greens as I fell in love with the ribbon that I found in my plentiful stash ;)
The off yellow die cut that "The Photographer" is sitting on was a freebie from Leonie at Create & Craft TV. I had my email picked out of the "spotty potty" & got sent a few various sizes of beautiful die cuts from Spellbinders. This is the larger size. All the embellishments & backing papers that I've used are from my stash.
I hope you like it!

My Design Team creation for this fortnight's challenge is using images from The Cutting Cafe
Quirky Crafts Blog for Challenge 12-Theme is FOLD IT!!
Its a handbag invitation which consists of just 2 folds!
What you need:
A3 piece of preferred colour of card measuring 35cm x 15cm
Piece of white or contrasting coloured card measuring 13.5cm x 9.5cm
2 different pieces of contrasting coloured &/or white card to add a sentiment too
Dragonfly/Butterfly or other garden related embellishment
Velcro sticky dots, 1 pair
Colour pens, pencils, watercolours, basically any colouring media
Flowers or other embellishments for the flap
Piece of ribbon for the "handle" measuring min 25cm max 50cm. (Any longer could result in strangling risk when the child tries to put it over her head)
glue or double sided tape to stick every element together
Make your own invitation wording or download a template...if you would like my own worded picture with the presents on please leave a comment below or email me on the email address above (on my header photos).
A colour printer for printing off the invitation invite wording that you will make &
Lastly, the "Lets Take A Ride" images from The Cutting Café
I used an A3 piece of pink card, cutting it to the dimensions of 35cm x 15cm.
I scored at 15cm intervals which left me with a 5cm flap. I stuck pink glitter
card to the outside of the flap & the bottom fold, then added a piece of green
slightly smaller onto the bottom piece only. Cutting 2 shapes with my spellbinder
tag shapes & a Nellie Snellen scalloped shaped rectangle slightly smaller, & topped
that with the sentiment "Special Delivery From My Garden", adding a dragonfly
(green) as an extra. On the flap I glued an assortment of white pink & purple silk flowers with faux pearl centers. The handle is made from a 5mm thick ribbon
with cupcakes printed on the one side & just stuck down under the backing paper.
The flap secures with Velcro sticky dots. On the inside I stuck a green backing
paper that has smallish butterflies on it & then added the image from The Cutting Café called "Take a ride", colouring with my Promarkers & a pink glitter Sakura pen
on the handlebar tassels. I added a tree with "rest stop" on the sign to the image which I think completes the whole set up. The invitation part is something I made
up on Microsoft Word using a clip art of a pile of present & softened the edges of
that using some of the effects available on that. (Other software systems which are
able to do the same thing, are available).

****Cherry Bonsai FREE digi stamp is only available though for 3 days****
The new freebie this week is called Cherry Bonsai and is adorable!!
So from this digi :
to the finished card pictures below. I used an A4 piece of grey card and scored it, along the DL line,
on both sides to secure the crease then I sat & coloured the bonsai tree with my Promarkers, choosing
Rose Pink, Pink Mittens (Limited Edition) for the flowers, Walnut, Cocoa & Teak for the tree trunk & branches. Maroon & Plum for the container, Sandstone and Tan for the rocks, Moss & Marsh Green for the moss, and finally small pieces of sandstone around the tree & rocks area of the sand and finished the rest of the sand using my Beach coloured Graph It artist colouring pen (very much like Promarkers, Flexmarkers, Copics & Spectrum Noirs).
All the backing card, paper & the 3 flowers that I have used are from my own stash.
Every piece of card was cut using my cutting dies from Spellbinders
is the main image that is used on the DigiStamps4Joy challenge blog.
That's it for today...., the new FREE image is now available in the
DigiStamps4Joy online shop
Good Morning peeps,
Today Ive decided to share with you an oval card (cut using my Grand Decorative Oval dies from Spellbinders) with an image from DigiStamps4Joy. You can go to the Camper Van image from here
I cut, using the same set of dies, 2 further ovals but smaller than the card so I could matt & layer
the backing papers that I had chosen to use with this multi coloured camper van. I coloured the van
using Promarkers, Flexmarkers, glitter & metallic pens from Sakura (that I won in a giveaway!!).
The 2 sentiments are both from my stash. In fact the card, backing papers & sentiments are all from my stash.
A simple card but with decorative edges....

I used 2 A3 sheets of cream hammered effect card and followed instructions in one of
my monthly magazines. I can supply this info upon request (email address on the header

Bye for now ;) x
To celebrate South Africa's Youth Day on Sunday June 16th this year, I have made a circular easel card with the Image called "Moon Walk". I used my spellbinders grand circular dies to cut the base card & the 2 circular backing cards. The word "Son" & the star are from a set of free papers in one of my regularly received monthly magazines. The phrase is from a collection on a Peerless Designs cd that Ive had for a couple of years. Very apt I think as it says "Life is a journey and love is what makes that journey worthwhile"....
You can find the Moon Walk image and many many more fantastic digi stamps at Digi Stamps 4 Joy
